Masa is the nixtamalized corn dough at the foundation of all Mexican cuisine.
Masa has been at the center of Mexican culture and civilization for milenia. This process of turning hardened corn into tortillas created the fuel that grew the Aztec Empire and revolutionized nutrition for generations.
Something new with ancient origins.
The handmade tortillas and freshly made salsas evoke traditional Mexico. That was the inspiration that set Iván Ruiz, the founder and chef of Masa, on his journey to create food that was reminiscent of his birthplace in the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains of Mexico.
Since immigrating to the U.S, he has looked for a way to bring his culture to his new home, a way to transcend time and location and bring together all the things he loves; familia, amigos, and delicious food.
